Dan comes from a four-generation deaf family. He was born in Utah and obtained his bachelor and master degrees from Gallaudet University. After working in the educational field for 13 years at Gallaudet University, Kentucky School for the Deaf and Rochester Institute of Technology, he jumped over to the corporate world in 2003. Currently, based in Seattle, Washington, he holds dual roles/titles as Outreach Manager for Oregon Relay and National Events/Logistics Manager with Sprint Relay. Dan loves to travel and has given many workshops and lent his expertise to advisory boards. Sites include community colleges and schools for the deaf in various states. Internationally, Dan worked with deaf programs in Bavaria, Germany, Kamensk, Russia and Bangkok, Thailand. With the National Association of the Deaf, he served in various capacities including youth and international committees. With GRO, Dan hopes to contribute his expertise and experience so that GRO can grow and expand all around the world. He also hopes that GRO will develop joint alliances with similar organizations in other countries. |
