Sarah Houge is a Minnesota native and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in English and Masters of Education focusing on Special (Deaf) Education. She has worked as a teacher in several programs in Minnesota, as well as Hawai’i, Jamaica and Kenya. Sarah provides consulting services to deaf schools and interpreters locally and abroad in areas of advocacy, multiculturalism and bilingual education. In 2010, Sarah received her M.A. in International Development for People with Disabilities from Gallaudet University and most recently worked with the World Federation of the Deaf in their Human Rights and Capacity Building Project in the West and Central African region. She provided training to members of national Deaf Associations, service providers and other organizations working with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing population in ten countries of the region.Sarah participated in GRO India 2009 as a delegate and is very excited to be returning to India as an evaluator for the delegation coordinators and delegates. |
