Michelle Koplitz, born deaf in Wisconsin, graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2008 with a B.S. in Biotechnology. Still interested in biology and health, but wanting to work with social programs, she decided to pursue a career in public health and is now attending the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health for a Masters in Health Sciences in Health Education and Health Communications. She plans to apply her studies to national and international health initiatives that work with deaf and hard of hearing populations. Aside from studying, Michelle enjoys traveling and was deeply inspired by her trip to Thailand as a GRO Delegate in 2007. A believer in GRO, she currently contributes to its mission by assisting with delegate recruitment and the planning of an upcoming fundraising event in the in Washington, DC area. |
