Kenya 2010
On July 20, 2010, GRO will make its second annual journey to the East African country of Kenya! Adhering to its mission, GRO returns to steadily continue its work of creating a sustainable community of Deaf leaders through a peer-to-peer delegation and Kenyan Leadership Youth Camp (KYLC).
American and Kenyan delegates both will undergo leadership training and intensive collaboration to prepare KYLC for Deaf Kenyan high school students. After the camp preparation, they are expected to operate KYLC and work closely with KYLC campers and other deaf Kenyans.
American delegates will receive language training in Kenyan Sign Language (KSL) and study situations faced by the Deaf community of Kenya.
